Web Cruiser's mundane interface can be scheduled to automatically check for updates as often as every 10 minutes. With that being said, we aren't sure if it actually notifies you immediately as updates occur or if it is reporting when one has occurred within your scheduled notification time. During tests, Web Cruiser only scans the listed sites at the scheduled 10-minute interval, making us iffy of its claims. You can set the application to blink, shake, pop up, and send e-mails regarding updates. Unfortunately, we aren't sure which site is updated since the entire list appears to always be given after a scan, and on top of this the e-mail feature didn't work during our analysis. The program's help link also turns up a page-not-found error message. When put to the test, this free software isn't reliable.
