Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffNovember 7, 2008This fun speech recognition program does respond to your commands, but installation and initial usage may have your head spinning. Oddly, Responding Heads comes as a TXT file, so you'll have to remove the extraneous TXT extension to actually install the program. The program takes its place on the system tray, with a few options available via the context menu. Edit Brain, found under Options, is the most important feature. You'll find a few editable commands, including reading selected text and telling the time. We fumbled around a bit before we figured out what to say to get the program to perform a selected command. The help file was of little help, but it performed smoothly once we got our bearings. The help file was more useful in creating our own commands. It's not difficult to make the program open an Internet browser, run applications, or type in text or display time, for example. Moreover, the program can display a cartoonlike character on your screen as a visual treat. This freeware will satisfy the casual speech recognition user, once you figure things out.
